Natural sheep wool insulation roll fitted into a timber structure

Natural insulationfor houses in Portugal

Natural building materials with verifiable technical performance

What natural insulation means

Natural insulation refers to materials of plant or animal origin — sheep's wool, cork, cellulose, wood fibre — as opposed to mineral insulation and petroleum derivatives.

We work with 100% pure sheep's wool, supplied as rolls and felts, for new build and renovation in Portugal and the rest of the Iberian Peninsula.

Natural thermal insulation: the numbers

The declared thermal conductivity of our rolls is between 0.033 and 0.038 W/mK, with densities from 18 to 30 kg/m³ and thicknesses from 30 to 300 mm, depending on the product.

These values are in the same range as mineral wools, cork and cellulose, so choosing eco friendly insulation does not mean giving up thermal performance.

Natural acoustic insulation

The fine, irregular wool fibre dissipates sound energy, contributing to acoustic absorption in partition walls, floors and ceilings. The range includes a specific acoustic felt for this purpose.

Ecological and sustainable insulation

Wool is a renewable raw material obtained from the annual shearing of sheep, with no synthetic fibres, no PLA and no biocides.

Our products are covered by natureplus® certification, an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) and European Technical Approval, documents available on the products page.

An alternative to rockwool and mineral wool

Anyone looking for an alternative to rockwool or mineral wool will find in sheep's wool comparable thermal conductivity values, simpler handling on site and a renewable raw material.

Most frequent applications

  • Natural wall insulation
  • Natural roof and loft insulation
  • Floors and ceilings between storeys
  • Timber frame construction
  • Renovation of older buildings
  • Campervans and motorhomes

Frequently asked questions

Does natural insulation cost more than conventional insulation?
The price per square metre is usually higher than standard mineral wools. The comparison should include the thickness required, the speed of installation and the expected durability. Send us your project details and we will prepare a quote.
Is it suitable for renovating old houses?
Yes. It is one of the most common applications, above all in roofs, lofts and internal walls, thanks to the wool's vapour-open behaviour.
Do you supply across Portugal?
Yes, throughout mainland Portugal and also in Spain. Please state the location and the estimated quantity in your quote request.
